Every place holds a story. Ours begins with a garden.
The beginning
Marouda's winter garden
On this piece of land, beside the stream and the little footbridge, Marouda once kept her winter garden. The family has cared for it for generations, with the quiet confidence that comes to places that are loved.
When the time came to build something new, the decision was simple. Two apartments, so we could share with our guests everything we love about this spot: the calm, the green, the view to the mountain and the lights of the village at night.
The name stayed the same. Because at heart, the garden never changed.
The village
Sykia, centuries of life
Sykia is one of the oldest villages in Halkidiki, built amphitheatrically on the foothills of Itamos. Its people have kept the traditions, the summer festivals and the easy hospitality of the village square alive.
Walk through the lanes and you will find old stone houses, yards full of flowers and cafes where time moves at its own pace. That is what sets Sykia apart from the busier corners of Halkidiki.
For us, hospitality is not a job. It is the way we were taught to welcome people.
